329. Use Your Liberty To Serve Others By Love

Galatians 4-6

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.     For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.     Galatians 5:1,13

Through Christ we have liberty. When we accept Him as our Savior, He frees us from the bondage of sin that held us so tightly. So often it is that bondage that we put ourselves back under. Here we are instructed not to do that. Do you live in the liberty of Christ or are you going back under the bondage that He freed you from? Now, just because you have been set free and given liberty, does not mean you can use it however you want. Paul instructs us that we are to use it to serve one another by love and not for gratifying our flesh. What are you using your liberty for?

72. God Does All Things For Our Good

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them. When there are things that God convicts you of, or rules applicable to you from His word, what is your response? Do you understand that He loves you and wants only the best for you? Or do you choose to think He doesn't know what He's doing and wants to keep you from having fun or enjoying life?
