331. Follow And Demonstrate A Christ-Like Love

1 Thessalonians 1-2 Thessalonians 3

But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:     So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us.   1 Thessalonians 2:7-8

We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith growth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;   2 Thessalonians 1:3

Paul and those with him set an example for the Thessalonians. They cared so much for them that they treated them with as much care and affection as someone that demonstrates tender care for a child. They wanted to give them the gospel and also to give of themselves because they were so dear to them. In second Thessalonians we can see that one of the things that Paul commends them for is the charity that they have for each other. They followed the example of Paul to them and started to love one another greatly. Do you set a good example of love and care for people? If people loved each other the way you loved them, how would their relationships be? Are you leaving an example worth following? And are you following the example of those around you, Paul, and most of all, Christ in the way that you love people?
