343. Walk After The Spirit To Avoid Condemnation

Romans 8-10

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.   Romans 8:1

Everyone loves the first part of this verse and it is more quoted than the whole thing. To know that we have no condemnation is great because we are in Christ! But that's not the only requirement to not have condemnation. It is to those who are in Christ Jesus and who walk after the Spirit and not the flesh. Although you are in Christ, are you walking after the Spirit? Or do you give in to the appetites the flesh? If you don't want condemnation, you need to walk after the Spirit because walking after the flesh will bring condemnation. What are you going to walk after?

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them.
