60. You Can Have Power With God

Numbers 14-15, Psalm 90 And the LORD said, I have pardoned according to thy word:      But as truly as I live all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.    Numbers 14:20-21 Moses was so close to the Lord that he was able to change His mind about the destruction of Israel. What about you? What does your relationship with the Lord look like? Are you close enough that you can get ahold of Him at a moment's notice? Could you persuade Him to spare judgment and be merciful? We have the opportunity to have the same power with God as Moses did, the problem is that most of us don't care enough to spend the time with God it takes to get that power. We want the cool parts of being a Christian without the work. What can you do to improve your walk with God and spend more time with Him? The closer you get to God, the more He may ask of you or ask you to give up because ultimately, He will get the glory. What are you willing to sacrifice to have power ...

59. Depend On God’s Strength

Numbers 11-13 I am not able to bear this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.    Numbers 11:14      And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.      Numbers 11:17 Sometimes, life and people can be overwhelming. What is your reaction to that? Do you end up slandering others, or just complaining about life? God will never give you anything that is too hard for you to bear with His help. And sometimes He provides other people in your life to help bear your burdens. But what if God chooses not to let someone else come along side and help you? Will you choose to trust God and go to Him for help in carrying things too heavy for you? Sometimes God gives you more than you alone can bear to teach you how to lean on Him for strength and not yourself. How is your ...

58. Ask God Daily For Directions

Numbers 8-10 At the commandment of the LORD they rested in the tents, and at the commandment of the LORD they journeyed: they kept the charge of the LORD, at the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses.    Numbers 9:23 The children of Israel decided what they were going to do day by day based on the commandment of the Lord. Whether they stayed, or went, or served, they did it based on what God told them to do for that day. In your daily life, how often do you go about your day without consulting the Lord and asking what He wants you to do for the day? You do what you deem important, instead of asking God what He thinks is important for you. At times, it may line up with what you want to do, or He may direct in a completely different direction. Are you willing to surrender your plans for the day in order to accomplish what God wants done? You should begin each day by asking for God's direction and then follow what it is He has for you to do that day.

57. Listen To God’s Voice

Numbers 7 And when Moses was gone into the tabernacle of the congregation to speak with him, then he heard the voice of one speaking unto him from off the mercy seat that was upon the ark of testimony, from between the two cherubims: and he spake unto him.     Numbers 7:89 After all the offerings had been made for the dedication of the tabernacle, Moses went in to the holiest of holies to talk with God. When he did, God spoke to him. What about you? When you have your time with God, do you hear from Him? Do you ask Him to speak to you when you read His word? What is God saying to you when you enter His presence? What do you get from reading the Bible and spending time talking to Him? Reading God's word and praying should happen on a daily basis so you should be hearing from God every day. Do you spend enough time to hear from God? Or do you just hurry through your devotions so you can move on with the rest of your day?

56. Put It Out Of The Camp

Numbers 5-6 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,      Command the children of Israel, that they put out of the camp every leper, and every one that hath an issue, and whosoever is defiled by the dead:      Both male and female shall ye put out, without the camp shall ye put them; that they defile not their camps, in the midst whereof I dwell.    Numbers 5:1-3 When someone was defiled, they had to be separated from others so as not to defile them or the place where they and the Lord dwelt. What about us today? We don't have all the same laws of defilement and separation, but there is one thing that can defile us and cause us to defile the place where God lives, and that is sin. If you have sin in your life, it will hurt you and the Lord because the Holy Spirit lives inside of you. It also has the possibility to hurt others in your life as well if not dealt with right away. When sin tries to take hold in your life, what is your respo...

55. Bear Your Own Burdens

Numbers 3-4 And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, as the camp is to set forward; after that, the sons of Kohath shall come to bear it: but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation.   Numbers 4:15 God gave each family of the Levites a job to do in carrying portions of the tabernacle when they moved to a different spot. The sons of Kohath were tasked with the most tedious part. They had to carry the ark and the vessels of the sanctuary with staves that they carried on their shoulders. They couldn't touch any of the holy things, or they would die. These things are described as their burden. Each one of us has a job or an area of service in our church or at least should. At times, the load might get heavy in what God asks us to do for Him. It may seem like a burden, but we are to bear our own burdens. When Go...

54. Be In Your Place

Numbers 1-2 Then the tabernacle of the congregation shall set forward with the camp of the Levites in the midst of the camp: as they encamp, so shall they set forward, ever man in his place by their standards.    Numbers 2:17 Every time the children of Israel moved forward in their journey, they had a certain order they had to take things down then set them back up and everyone had to be in their place. It's easy to be involved in special events or work that everyone is involved in, but what about the mundane things of service? Cleaning the church, singing the congregationals, talking to people, making visitors feel welcome, where are you? Are you faithful? When things are boring and the simple, everyday tasks need to be done, are you in your place? Can the Pastor and those around you count on you?

53. Reverence God’s Sanctuary

Leviticus 26-27 Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.   Leviticus 26:2 We don't keep the sabbath as it was in the old testament but we do have church services where we take time to rest in and remember God. Are you faithful to church? Do you have your heart and mind ready to receive what God has for you in the message? Another part to this verse is to reverence the Lord's sanctuary. How is your behavior and attitude when you are at church? Are you flippant about your worship? Are you careful about the words you say and respectful of the property? Do you dress your best to show honor and reverence to the Lord in His sanctuary? Do you go to church with an attitude of reverence for the Lord?

52. God’s Word Is For Everyone

Leviticus 24-25 Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the LORD your God.      Leviticus 24:22 Though the laws of the land differ greatly from country to country, or even state to state, there is one law that remains the same from generation to generation, that applies to all people and nations everywhere. That law is the Bible, the word of God. Still today it is applicable for all men. First, the message of salvation.   After that, guidelines by which to live. Are you following the guidelines God has given you in His word? Are you telling the lost about the gospel? Are you using God's word to encourage, and provoke your fellow believers? God's word is alive and works for every person today! How well do you know it, and how much do you use it?

51. God Deserves Our Best And Our First

Leviticus 22-23 Ye shall not offer unto the LORD that which is bruised, or crushed, or broken, or cut; neither shall ye make any offering thereof in your land.      Leviticus 22:24 Speak unto the children of Israel and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest:      And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.                     Leviticus 23:10-11 When giving instructions about the sacrifices and feast days, God gave specifications about the condition of the offerings that were to be given. They were to be perfect, and they were to be the first of what they received. How many times when God asks you to give something, whether ...

50. Always Love God’s People

Leviticus 19-21 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am the LORD.    Leviticus 19:18 Sometimes the hardest people to love are God's people. Especially when they've caused great hurt in your life. The easy answer is to tell them off, or hold it against them and hope they'll be miserable when in reality, you will be the one that suffers the most. Despite what others have done, or how you think or feel, you are to love them without getting vengeance or holding a grudge. It often seems impossible but God will never ask you to do something He will not give the grace and the strength for. Will you choose to nurse your wounds and further cause yourself damage? Will you choose to tell people exactly how you feel and how much they've hurt you? Or will you choose to submit yourself to God's command and give Him your hurt, trust Him to repay vengeance, and love them no matter what?

49. Obedience To God Brings Life

Leviticus 16-18 Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the LORD your God.     Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the LORD.   Leviticus 18:4-5 God gives rules and instructions for a reason. Sometimes they're easy to follow, and sometimes it seems like God is asking too much. But could God ever ask too much of you? Sometimes the things God asks us to do seem hard because it will make us different. We'll stand out or be weird. It can feel like death to our social life or friendships. Although you’re supposed to die to self so you can live for Christ. When we follow God's commands it brings us life! We live for Christ and Christ lives in us! We are spiritually alive! We have a full and satisfying life by following God and making Him our ultimate satisfaction! Will you choose to obey and to say yes to God every time He asks you to do something?

48. Keep God’s Tabernacle Clean

Leviticus 14-15 Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness; that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my tabernacle that is among them.     Leviticus 15:31 The children of Israel had an actual tabernacle to go to and offer sacrifices and receive atonement. Second Corinthians five refers to our tabernacle as the body God has given us. It is also often referred to as the temple of the Holy Ghost. Do you keep yourself clean? The things you do and say, the places you go? As a child of God, God chooses to reside in us as His tabernacle. What are you doing to keep it clean, to separate yourself from uncleanness so it is fit for the Lord and so you won't die in your uncleanness?

47. God Is The Omniscient Physician

Leviticus 11-13 This is the law of the plague of leprosy in a garment of woolen or linen, either in the warp, or wood, or any thing of skins, to pronounce it clean, or to pronounce it unclean.           Leviticus 13:59 In chapter thirteen of Leviticus, God gives the instructions for leprosy in both people and fabric. He goes into great detail describing the different things to look out for at the different stages of the sickness to determine whether it was actually leprosy or just a scab. It reminds me that God knows better than anyone the sicknesses we face and the cure for them. God is able to diagnose our ailments and present the proper solution. But, do you go to Him for answers? He has all the answers for any spiritual disease you may contract and He has the power to guide your steps to the right way of dealing with and right people to go to for any physical disease you may get. Do you trust His omniscience and let Him diagnose ...

46. Feed Your Spirit

Leviticus 8-10   Therefore shall ye abide at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation day and night seven days, and keep the charge of the LORD, that ye die not: for so I am commanded.   Leviticus 8:35 Moses was speaking here to Aaron and his sons. God treats the care of His house with great seriousness. The New Testament says that we are a royal priesthood, and an holy priesthood. God also says that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Ghost. Christ lives in us, we are His house. How are you taking care of His dwelling place? Do you allow garbage to filter into your ears, eyes, heart, etc.? You might not die physically by choosing worldly or not so bad things, but you will die spiritually because you am not feeding your spirit with spiritual things. Will you choose to make wise decisions that will feed your spirit?

45. Sin Needs To Be Dealt With Right Away

Leviticus 5-7 And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in this thing:     And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the LORD for his sin which he hath sinned, a female from the flock, a lamb or a kid of the goats, for a sin offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for him concerning his sin.     Leviticus 5:5-6 While today, we don't have to offer sacrifices for sins or go to the priest, God still wants us to deal with sin as soon as we know it's there. 1 John 1:9 says: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." When God brings a sin to your mind, or just something He wants you to change, do you obey right away? If you choose to ignore it, it'll just get worse and will have a negative effect on your life. Not to mention, it'll cause separation between you and God until you get it taken care...

44. Our Sacrifices Should Smell Sweet To The Lord

Leviticus 1-4 And Aaron's sons shall burn it on the altar upon the burnt sacrifice, which is upon the wood that is on the fire: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.        Leviticus 3:5 God gave instructions as to how the sacrifices were to go. And a couple of times He said that a certain sacrifice done a certain way, would be a sweet savor to the Lord. Today we don't bring animal sacrifices for different sins or rituals, but God does tell us to bring our bodies a living sacrifice to Him and to sacrifice in different areas of our lives for His service. But there is a certain way He wants things done. Are you willing to sacrifice your life for Christ? Do you do it in the correct way? Is your sacrifice an abomination to the Lord or a sweet smelling savor?

43. Obedience Is Blessed

Exodus 39-40 According to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel made all the work.     And Moses did look upon all the work, and, behold, they had done it as the LORD had commanded, even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them.    Exodus 39:42-43 Moses blessed the children of Israel after they obeyed all that the Lord had commanded. So to does the Lord bless obedience. 1 Samuel says that to obey is better than sacrifice. What has God given you to do? Have you obeyed all that God has told you? Is God blessing your life and what you do? If not, maybe you need to ask God what it is He wants you to do. Is your life one of complete obedience? Or do you half heartedly follow God's instructions?

42. God Can Use Anything

Exodus 36-38 And he made the laver of brass, and the foot of it of brass, of the lookingglasses of the women assembling, which assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.   Exodus 38:8 God used what we think of today as a mirror to make one of the pieces of furniture of the tabernacle! God doesn't expect you to give what you don't have. He does ask you to give whatever it is you have and let Him figure out how to use it. God can do more with what you have than you ever could. If God can use a mirror to make furniture, He can use whatever it is you have to accomplish His will and work! Are you willing to give to God what He asks of you and let Him handle how He's going to use what you give Him?

41. Your Closeness With God Should Be Outwardly Seen

Exodus 33-35 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him. Exodus‬ ‭34:29‬ Moses spent so much time with God that it was physically visible to everyone around him. There was no doubt in the minds of others that Moses had been with God. How much time do you spend with God every day? Does it show on the outside? Can people look at you and say, they've been with God today? Does your life shine with the light of God for all to see?

40. The Bible, To: Us, From: God

Exodus 30-32   And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God .   Exodus 31:18   When God finished talking with Moses, He gave him two tables of stone that He wrote on with his own finger. Just as God personally gave Moses His word so many years ago, so He has personally preserved them for us! God loved us so much that He used men of God to write down His words and pass them down from generation to generation so that we could have them in our language today! Every word is directly from God, to us! Isn't God good?!

39. Be Prepared To Serve At A Moments Notice

Exodus 28-29   And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron's garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office .   Exodus 28:3   God had prepared those that He wanted for the work of making Aaron's garments. There were specific requirements He had. They had to be wise hearted and filled by God with the spirit of wisdom. Are you willing to let God prepare you to be used at a moments notice for the work that He has for you to do? Are you always ready to serve or will there be missed opportunities because you chose to do your own thing instead of allowing God to do the work in you to prepare you for service?

38. Give Willingly

Exodus 25-27   And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,      Speak unto the children of Israel, that they may bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering .   Exodus 25:1-2   God had given Moses instructions for building the tabernacle and everything in it but then told Moses to collect offerings of the people for the supplies needed to build everything. But He said to collect the offering "of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart" . God wants us  to give to further the work of H is house. But He wants us to give willingly. He will not force us,  but it is something He asks of us . Do you give willingly all that the Lord asks you  to give? Whether it be money, time, resources , yourself . God wants His children to work together and give sacrificially so that His work may be furthered. What a re you willing to give to God?

37. Remember Your Promises To God

Exodus 22-24   And Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the LORD hath said will we do .      And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel .   Exodus 24:3-4   After Moses told the children of Israel what God said, they all promised to follow and obey God. Moses wrote things down and then they had a sacrifice where the children of Israel once again agreed to obey God's commandments. Then Moses sprinkled them with the blood of the sacrifice which represented the covenant that God made with them. When God asks you to do something and you say that you'll do it, do you keep your promises? Do you  remember, or have something to remind you of the commitments you  have made to God? When you ...

36. Standards Are Important To Keep Us From Sinning

Exodus 19-21   And thou shalt set bounds unto the people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that ye go not up into the mount, or touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth the mount shall be surely put to death:     There shall not an hand touch it, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it be beast or man, it shall not live: when the trumpet soundeth long, they shall come up to the mount.   Exodus 19:12-13   God told Moses that the people were not to touch the mount or else they would be put to death. To make sure they followed that command, God had Moses set up boundaries to be sure that they wouldn't disobey . God's word is filled with instructions and commands for us to follow today. To be sure that we   don't cross the line into sin, we  have boundaries, or as they're more commonly known standards, that we set in place to keep us safe from accidentally breaking God's commands. While God doesn't al...

35. Tell Others About God’s Goodness

Exodus 16-18   And Moses told his father in law all that the LORD had done unto Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, and all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and how the LORD delivered them .      And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel, whom he had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians .   Exodus 18:8-9   When Jethro came to visit Moses, Moses told Jethro of all that God had done for them and to the Egyptians. Jethro rejoiced at Moses' testimony of God's goodness! What do you do when God does something for you? Do you keep it to yourself  or do you tell others about what God has done for you? You could encourage someone by telling them about the good things that God has done for you ! God does good things for you   so that you 'll give Him the glory. The best way to do that is to tell others about God's goodness!

34. The Lord Is My Healer

Exodus 13-15   And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.     Exodus 15:26   The Lord promised to keep the Israelites from the diseases of the Egyptians if they would follow and obey Him. And He says that He is their healer! Egypt is a picture of the world. So, by obeying God's commandments and doing what's right, He will keep you from some of the awful diseases in the world that come by following one's own heart, instead of God's word. He is also your healer! There is no sickness you can obtain that the Lord cannot heal. Do you get stressed out and turn to the internet to look up every unusual ache and pain? Or do you go to God first and ask Him for wisdom? We are  to seek fi...

33. Obey God Completely

Exodus 10-12   And Moses said, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast unto the LORD .      And he said unto them, Let the LORD be so with you, as I will let you go, and your little ones: look to it; for evil is before you .      Not so: go now ye that are men, and serve the LORD; for that ye did desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh's presence .      And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, even all that the hail hath left .   Exodus 10:9-12   After enduring several plagues as God's punishment for Pharaoh not letting God's people go, he gave in. ..but only partially. He wasn't willing to give up everything to let the people go. He was willing only on hi...
